Hailey Van Lith had high hopes for a National Championship run with LSU, but things didn't go as planned. Not only did the team fall short of their title aspirations, but reports also surfaced about tension between Van Lith and her teammates-a situation Angel Reese addressed publicly last month.
"We weren't super close, but I was probably one of the closer people with her on the team," Reese said.
"I think she was really distant from everybody else. So I kind of felt bad, so was like let me get close to her and like see who she is, because she was the only white girl.
"I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable. I wanted her to feel as comfortable as she could being able to come into a situation where she had to transfer. She was super successful at Louisville. For a little while, she struggled with confidence in the beginning."
Meanwhile, Van Lith gained significant online attention this week after sharing a set of bold and eye-catching photos that quickly went viral.
A move to TCU
Those struggles led Van Lith to make a major change over the summer, transferring to TCU, a move that has fans speculating about her potential to bounce back and elevate her draft prospects.
Once regarded as a future top pick for the 2024 WNBA Draft, Van Lith's path has become less certain after the past couple of seasons.
Despite the setbacks, she's been working to regain her momentum and has already caught attention ahead of the new season, going viral with a set of bold, eye-catching photos.
While the last few years have dimmed some of the initial excitement surrounding Van Lith's career, she still has a chance to prove herself and regain her place among the sport's elite.
