Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes continued their march to the bowl games with a dominant 49-24 victory over the Utah Utes on Saturday, November 16 as they earn their eighth win of the season and Coach Prime nets a nice bonus.
The 57-year-old head coach has perfectly weaponized Travis Hunter and his son, Shedeur, throughout the season to push the Boulder-based football team up to second in the Big 12 conference, behind the BYU Cougars.
And it ensured that the two-time Super Bowl winner made an extra $100,000 on his deal as part of a stipulation in his contract that he earns an extra hundred grand for every win after the first six.
And the money isn't stopping there. Sanders earned $200,000 for his win over the Cincinnati Wildcats in Week 10 for qualifying for a bowl game as well as the $100,000 win bonus, and he also added an extra $100,000 for the victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders on November 9, as per USA Today's Steve Berkowitz.
So that means he's now made an extra $500,000 in a matter of weeks, coming in as a nice cash kitty ahead of Thanksgiving and Christmas for the man who is already worth an astonishing 45 million dollars in net worth.
Sanders has a shot to earn even more money
Now holding an 8-2 overall record and 6-1 in the Big 12, the Buffaloes have the chance to claim their first 10+ win season in 23 years should they defeat the Kansas City Jayhawks and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
If they go 100%, they could even leapfrog the BYU Cougars to win the Big 12 conference, which would mean Coach Prime has some extra bonus clauses activated in his deal at Boulder's Folson Field.
Along with the $200,000 for winning both games, he could also add $150,000 should his side prevail in their conference.
