Olivia Dunne's Lousiana State University (LSU) coach has shown some serious concern after the Gymnastics 101 event.
This was the first time since winning the national title in April that the LSU Tigers took to the mats at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, and the majority of the focus was on fifth-year returnee Dunne.
The Tigers performed their top 50 routines for the watching crowd and coach, Jay Clark, found something to be very concerning.
There is no scoring at this event meaning it is essentially an opportunity to practise and get back into the swing of things. Despite that, Clark had some harsh words for those who took part, believing only some of the students looked ready for the season.
In the post-event press conference, he said: "Some good, some bad. Some people looked really ready, others looked scared and timid."
Perhaps the most concerning element for Clark was that it was the senior gymnasts who were faltering more routinely than the freshmen.
Clark said: "Some really good spots, but I saw some things that were also concerning."
Mentioning that some of the seniors appeared to be very timid, he said: "And that's concerning as a coach. I don't want that to happen.
"The freshman seem to have a little more poise than some of our more experienced people and so we got to get that ironed out."
Olivia Dunne staying active
Dunne has remained active in gymnastics even before this event where she tried every apparatus except the vault.
In her latest TikTok video, the LSU star blew everyone away by starring in a totally unexpected showdown. The clip features a "duel" that ends with a perfect landing that stunned her fans.
In the video, Livvy performs the same gymnastics exercise she had attempted during her freshman year of college.
The comparison is striking: in her debut, her routine ends with a fall that reflects the challenges of that time. But now, in her fifth year, she performs the same routine with precision and ends with a perfect landing that conveys confidence and mastery.
