- NCAAF. Georgia's critical loss without even playing a College Football Playoff game
- NCAAF. Deion Sanders' fear of the unknown at Colorado as a future without Shedeur beckons
This Saturday will be one of the best days of the year for college football fans. The College Football Playoff will continue with three big time matchups. Surprising SMU faces impressive Penn State. Titans Ohio State and Tennessee square off. And one of the best teams throughout this season, Texas, hosts a scary Clemson team. The Texas game is perhaps the most interesting, simply because of a quarterback situation that seems to be on the brink of explosion.
Since returning from an oblique injury, Quinn Ewers has turned the ball over seven times through interceptions over eight games. But more concerning has been the offense being unable to put up a ton of points. In the last four games to close out the season, they sured 22 points just once, with their defense doing the heavy lifting. Despite Ewers not elevating the team, head coach Steve Sarkisian has barely used Arch Manning, which has driven fans crazy. Will Sarkisian finally cave for the most important game of the season?
Quinn Ewers struggling is the key to Arch Manning playing against Clemson
A good amount of analysts believe it will finally happen against Clemson, but it's contingent on how Ewers is playing.
- Kirk Herbstreit: "This is Quinn Ewers' team, but there's so much anticipation and excitement around Arch Manning potentially taking over, and I wonder if that dynamic is influencing Sark inside the locker room."
- Joel Klatt: "Texas' offense would be better with Arch Manning. I just wonder to myself, if they were struggling, how short is that leash on Quinn Ewers? I think it would be pretty short."
Herbstreit and Klatt are two of the most plugged-in college football reporters, so it shouldn't be taken with a grain of salt. They're not outright saying it will happen, but if Ewers struggles early on, we might be seeing Manning more often than usual on Saturday.
