Travis Hunter is already considered as a potential No. 1 overall pick in April's NFL Draft.
Known for his dominance as both a receiver and defensive back during his time at Colorado, Hunter's versatility on the football field has captivated fans and scouts alike.
Hunter's confidence in his athletic abilities was on full display during a recent episode of The Travis Hunter Show.
When asked who the most versatile athlete is today, he didn't hesitate.
"Me," Hunter declared without a second thought. "It's definitely me. If y'all don't know, I can play a lot of sports, but you will never know because I play football.
"I could play basketball, too. I can run track. I can do long jump, high jump in track. I can do the mile, the 400. I can play baseball if I felt like it."
Could Travis Hunter become a multi-sport athlete?
Hunter's aspirations don't seem far-fetched when you consider his wide-ranging skill set.
While football is currently his main focus, he's open to the idea of expanding into other sports professionally, particularly baseball.
"Baseball making that money, so, like, I might make the transition soon and be like a Coach Prime, a Deion Sanders. Go ahead and get my Ms over there, too, while I get my Ms in the NFL," Hunter said, referencing Sanders' dual-sport career.
"I could go out there and be a good outfielder for you. I could steal bases for you. I might can't hit for nothing, but I can learn that. That ain't hard."
Sanders' dual-sport career is legendary. He was the fifth overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft and went on to have a 14-year NFL career, earning two Super Bowl rings.
Simultaneously, he played nine seasons of Major League Baseball, suiting up for teams like the Yankees, Braves, and Reds.
Hunter believes he has what it takes to replicate that path-or even explore other avenues. He lightheartedly imagined himself excelling in a variety of sports.
"You think it's going over the gate? No sir," Hunter joked about patrolling the outfield. "Climbing that wall. Give me that. I'm telling you, I can play baseball, too.
"Volleyball? I can play volleyball. Tennis? I ain't good at that. Fishing? I'm the best at that. Ping-pong? Trash. Swimming? I'm like Michael Phelps."
He even mentioned his interest in golf, acknowledging it would take some work but adding, "I just need to perfect swinging the club."
