Raised his kids like dogs! Deion Sanders explains how he prepared his sons for life and adversity

Under Sanders, the Buffs rejuvenated as hopes have turned into expectations for better and bigger things at the college level, which could propel the program to reach national recognition as one of the most exciting schools to play football at.

Sanders explains how he raised his kids

Deion Sanders was recently interviewed at the Bobby Bones Show where he talked about his expectations for the 2025 season with the Buffaloes as well as the current state of the NFL, football and life. Per usual, "Prime Time" gave some gems about raising a family.

"Values mean they're dogs because most of us are raising cats and not dogs. What I mean by that is your circumstances, my circumstances, the way we came up without and what we saw and what we witnessed and what scarred us and what prepared us and kept us and compelled us to get to the next level. That's our story." Sanders said.

He went on to say that some parents overprotect their children so that the kids don't have to go through the struggles and although adults want to raise dogs, they are raising cats

"So you got to make sure you take that cat over to places that they can be a dog, because they can't always be a cat because now, when something trial and tribulation hit them upside the head, they are not going to be able to handle it, because you've always protected them and guided them and that can't be the case. You got to let them touch that oven so they find out it's hot every now and then." Sanders stated.

Deion's focus is Shedeur's next destination

Superstar quarterback Shedeur Sanders is one of the best ranked players available at the 2025 NFL Draft and he wants to make history in the league wherever he goes.

The youngest son of Deion "Prime Time" Sanders had a sensational season with the Colorado Buffaloes, team that he lead to a 9-4 record while putting up some impressive numbers that earned hime the 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

Sanders biggest rival to secure being the first quarterback drafted in the 2025 NFL's class is standout Miami Hurricanes Cam Ward, who has impressed league's recruiters with his poise, arm strenght and abiity to change games with his football IQ.
