- NCAA. Arch Manning takes a major step forward to ease fears over his readiness to take over Texas
- NCAA. Arch Manning's journey to the NFL begins but an incoming QB is already threatening his place at the top of the 2026 Draft
Arch Manning may be the future of Texas football, but in a new Uber ad, he's just another enger except this time, there's no driver in sight. The star quarterback teams up with his father, Cooper, and grandfather, Archie, for a hilarious commercial promoting Uber's latest self-driving taxi service in Austin. The result? A family roast session that proves the Mannings are just as entertaining off the field as they are on it.
The ad, which hit Uber's Instagram on Tuesday, kicks off with Cooper Manning asking Archie who's driving their car. The camera then pans to an empty driver's seat, setting the stage for some classic Manning family banter. As the trio cruises through Austin in a Waymo-powered self-driving taxi, Cooper doesn't miss the opportunity to tease Arch about his driving habits, bringing up his collection of parking tickets on campus.
Arch, in typical college-student fashion, its that parking on campus is a nightmare and that Uber is definitely the better option. That's when Archie jumps in, taking a shot at his grandson's driving skills. "This thing drives a lot better than Arch did last night coming from the airport," he jokes. Arch, unable to argue, simply confesses, "I missed like three turns."
Arch Manning embarks on a hilarious ride
The commercial not only highlights Uber's push into autonomous vehicles but also showcases the Mannings' signature humor. The playful jabs continue as Cooper pretends to kiss Arch on the cheek before giving the same treatment to the invisible driver, proving that, driver or not, the Manning charm is in full force.
This ad is part of a larger campaign marking Uber's expansion of self-driving taxis in Austin, making it the second city, after Phoenix, to receive the Waymo service. It also adds to Arch Manning's growing NIL portfolio, which, according to On3, is valued at a whopping $6.5 million making him the highest-ranked NIL athlete in college sports.
While fans will have to wait until 2025 to see Arch Manning take over as Texas' starting quarterback, this commercial gives a glimpse into his off-the-field personality. And if this ad is any indication, he's got just as much charisma as he does talent. Whether or not he trusts a self-driving Uber, one thing's for sure the Mannings never miss an opportunity for a legendary ride.
