Deion Sanders has repeatedly been able to provoke amusing reactions out of his mother, and she has made a confession about his youth that may shock some.

Connie has opted to stay away from the 5000-acre ranch that Deion now lives on because she can't find any peace when he is around.

Talk about confidence! Shedeur Sanders tells which is the most legendary moment of his young career

The Colorado Buffaloes coach recently asked his mother to move out of her house and come live with him in Dallas, but she was very quick to say no.

Quickly accepting defeat, Deion then referred to the fact his mother does not get outside too much. Sanders asked: "Can you at least get the view of the beautiful mountains... Why do you have everything closed up?"

Sanders then opened up the curtains to the room they were in which let the sunlight pour in, seemingly blinding Connie enough for her to say: "Here you come with that opening up everything. I was glad when you were gone."

Deion took the comment well with plenty of laughter, showing the playful relationship that the pair enjoy, from a distance.

A special bond

When paying tribute to Connie for Mother's Day in 2024, Deion explained how central she had been to his motivations when he was younger.

"My mother had never seen me play, so I could have used that to say 'Poor little old me, I have no , I have no love, I have no one that has my back'. But I flipped that," said Deion.

"I said 'Bless little old me'. Because I'm going to be rich one day and I'm going to make a lot of money so my mother doesn't have to work another day in her life. So when it's time for her to see me play, she's going to fly first class if that's what she wants," he added.
