- Tennessee Titans. Titans schedule visits with top draft prospects including Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter, Cam Ward, and Shedeur Sanders
NFL scouts define him as a "gunslinger with good size," with a good arm and legs that help his offensive line. However, Cam Ward has a very different definition of himself heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, which sets him apart from his closest competitor, Shedeur Sanders.
Ward is one of the top prospects for this draft. According to analysts, the University of Miami graduate will be among the top three picks, and some even project him as the first overall pick.
Only two other players could overshadow the former Hurricane in the draft: former Colorado Buffaloes stars Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders. However, in a video posted by the NFL on X (formerly Twitter), Ward explained what makes him different from his competitors.
The "Demon" Cam Ward
In the video, the young quarterback broke down some of the plays that made him stand out in his last year in college football. In the first, Ward connects on a long right to the corner of the end zone in a game against the Louisville Cardinals.
He explained that the play did not develop as they expected due to the depth of the Cardinals' coverage, but he managed to resolve it with a quick change of decision and thanks to the legs of his receiver. In the second, he completes another touchdown while being chased by two linebackers, after the collapse of his pocket.
It is because of plays like these that Ward defines himself as a "scramble drill demon" and assured that "everyone knows it," starting with NFL scouts, who have surely analyzed every second of available footage of the Miami Hurricanes phenomenon heading to this April's draft.
Ward's draft stock after the NFL Combine
The NFL Scouting Combine was the final chance for NFL hopefuls to show off to scouts and coaches. After going through tryouts and multiple meetings at Lucas Oil Stadium, Ward reinforced his position as the top quarterback prospect for the 2025 Draft.
Most mock drafts project Ward as a top-three pick. If scouts and coaches saw the video on social media, they might add a point or two to the scramble drill demon's rating, boosting his draft stock.
