Entering the 2023 college football season, the Colorado Buffaloes faced uncertainty as they embarked on a new era. In "Prime" position to restore the program to prominence, head coach Deion Sanders oversaw a modest return on investment as Colorado progressed from a 1-11 season in 2022 to win four games in 2023 -- but the real breakout occurred in 2024.

With Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter maturing, and quarterback Shedeur Sanders breaking school ing records, Colorado achieved bowl eligibility and competed for the Big 12 championship on its way to a 9-4 season -- its best campaign in nearly a decade. Shedeur and Travis are now headed to the NFL, and they will be missed in Boulder -- but never forgotten.

Julian Lewis' "cold" celebration

Incoming freshman quarterback Julian "JuJu" Lewis is ensuring that Shedeur Sanders' legacy at Colorado lasts a long time. During a recent practice session, Lewis threw a perfect spiral down the sideline before hitting Shedeur's "Perfect Timing" celebration -- a nod to one of the Buffs' best-ever players following his NCAA departure.

Colorado's 2025 team is going to look much different from the Buffs' 2023 and 2024 iterations. Given their open quarterback race, the Buffs are trying to beef up their offensive line and run the ball more this coming season in order to continue to compete in the Big 12. But Shedeur and Travis will never be far from their hearts, and the star duo -- likely entering the NFL as top-10 picks next season -- has left a legacy that won't soon be replicated.
