The NFL Draft speculation surrounding Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders continues to gain momentum, with analysts debating where the talented signal-caller will land.
Initially projected as a top-three pick, Sanders was frequently linked to quarterback-needy teams such as the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants.
Could Shedeur Sanders land in L.A.?
As the draft process unfolds, concerns about Shedeur's character and readiness for the next level have led to speculation that he could slip down the board.
If that happens, NFL analyst Bucky Brooks believes Sanders could find an ideal landing spot with a team that hasn't been frequently mentioned in connection with him: the Los Angeles Rams.
With head coach Sean McVay's proven track record of developing quarterbacks and Matthew Stafford still under center, Brooks sees a scenario where Sanders could thrive in L.A.
"If Sean McVay can transform Jared Goff into a Pro Bowler and Super Bowl quarterback, he would work his magic with Sanders, given their similar games,"Brooks wrote.
"As a creative play-designer who employs a quarterback-friendly scheme, McVay could handcraft an offense that accentuates Sanders' game as a drop-back er."
Brooks also emphasized the benefits of the Rams' current quarterback situation, which could allow Sanders to develop behind Stafford before stepping into a starting role.
"With Matthew Stafford in place to serve as the team's QB1 in 2025, the Rams could provide Sanders the equivalent of a 'redshirt' season to help him acclimate to the pro game, while they observe, mentor, and develop him for a starting role down the line. Given that the Rams are one of the stronger player development teams in football, the marriage between Sanders and L.A. could be a win-win arrangement for both parties."
Sanders' path to the NFL has been anything but ordinary.
As the son of Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders, he has been in the spotlight for years, navigating both high expectations and intense scrutiny.
His leadership transformed Jackson State into a dominant force in the SWAC, and he later helped revitalize a struggling Colorado program.
Despite anonymous reports questioning his attitude, Sanders' confidence and ability to elevate teams make him an intriguing prospect for any franchise looking for a quarterback with both talent and mental toughness.
The biggest obstacle to this potential pairing is the Rams' draft position.
Holding the No. 26 overall pick, L.A. would likely need to trade up significantly to land Sanders, as he is still widely expected to go in the top 10.
While his father, Deion, may have envisioned a different draft-day outcome for his son, a year of development under McVay and Stafford could prove to be the perfect long-term fit for Sanders and the Rams.
