Quarterback Julian Lewis, originally from Carrollton, is set to make a big impression in the college football season as he takes on a prominent role with the Colorado Buffaloes. After decommitting from USC in November, Lewis officially ed the Buffaloes in March. With Shedeur Sanders heading to the NFL, Lewis has positioned himself as one of the top candidates to take the starting spot in Boulder, a role that offers him not only visibility but also significant financial potential.

However, despite the tempting rewards that come with being the quarterback for Colorado, Lewis has a clear perspective on what truly matters: his future in the NFL. "College is not the final goal. We all want to get to the league. There's no reason to settle for the zero standard. The league is the goal. Zero money isn't NFL money," said the young athlete. For him, the income he could generate in college is not his main motivation. Although his position offers lucrative opportunities similar to what Shedeur Sanders experienced-who accumulated $6.5 million before heading to the NFL-Lewis remains focused on his long-term goals.

Money is not a priority for Julian Lewis

Lewis has been aware from a young age of the importance of avoiding distractions on his way to the NFL. In a recent interview on The Pivot podcast, Lewis explained how he manages his finances, emphasizing that he is not directly involved in decisions about his money. "Yeah, no, I don't control any of my money. I don't touch it. I don't talk about it. My dad, David, from Athlete First, pretty much handles all of my finances," he said, making it clear that, although NIL deals can generate millions, he prefers to delegate that responsibility to those with experience.

The 17-year-old quarterback is aware of the commercial opportunities that his name can bring. In fact, he has already amassed a valuation of $1.1 million thanks to deals with brands such as Leaf Trading Cards and partnerships with Jaxxon, Alo Yoga, and Travis Scott's Cactus Jack. However, Lewis remains uninterested in easy money. As he explained, "I feel lucky to be a part of the NIL era, but it's not something that matters that much to me." For him, what truly matters is continuing to develop as a player, with his eyes set on the NFL.
