Adam Schefter warns NFL teams about drafting Shedeur Sanders

Adam Schefter warns that Deion Sanders could become part of the conversation if his son's NFL team starts to struggle.

Deion Sanders may be staying at Colorado, at least on paper, but the NFL might not be done with him yet. As Shedeur Sanders prepares to enter the league in this week's NFL Draft, ESPN's Adam Schefter dropped a warning that's raising eyebrows across front offices: drafting Shedeur could eventually come with Deion.

Schefter didn't hold back, saying that unless a team is led by someone as secure as Pittsburgh'sMike Tomlin, any head coach drafting the Colorado quarterback better be ready for some pressure. "If that team struggles and fans start calling for a change, the talk will begin, about Deion," he said.

He demands greatness! Deion Sanders calls out Colorado players as he looks for the next "him"

The first-ever father-son duo in the NFL?

Deion has already coached Shedeur at both the high school and college levels, creating a dynamic that's fueled headlines, hype and headlines again. If the right NFL team takes a gamble on Shedeur and things don't click quickly, it's not hard to imagine fans, and maybe owners, wondering if Coach Prime could fix things himself.

While Deion hasn't said he's eyeing a pro job, his name was floated earlier this year for the Dallas Cowboys. He itted he spoke with Jerry Jones, though denied it was a formal interview. That alone suggests the door is cracked open.

A loaded draft night decision

Shedeur Sanders is expected to go in the first round, but where exactly remains a question. Some mock drafts have him in the top 10, others much later. What seems certain is that he expects to play early. That makes fit essential, both on the field and in the front office.

A team that picks Shedeur isn't just betting on his arm. It's betting on his brand, his baggage, and potentially his dad. That could be a blessing or a burden, depending on how things unfold.

Deion stays busy in Boulder....for now

Coach Prime signed an extension to stay at Colorado through 2029 and just added two new quarterbacks to fill Shedeur's shoes, including five-star prospect Julian Lewis. But if an NFL opportunity comes knocking, especially one involving his son? Don't be surprised if Deion answers.
