Shedeur Sanders' final social media post before draft paints bleak picture for first round

The 2025 NFL Draft might see only one QB taken on Thursday night.

If you would have asked just about anyone who watches college football at the end of last season where Shedeur Sanders would go in the 2025 NFL Draft, "Top 5" would have been the likeliest answer. Two stellar seasons at Colorado set up Deion Sanders' most talented son to take full advantage of a mediocre quarterback class in the draft.

But over the past couple of months, Shedeur has seen his draft stock lower considerably. Once considered in heavy contention to go second or third overall, reports have surfaced in recent days that he may fall out of the first round entirely. That seems crazy considering how many teams could use a potential franchise quarterback, but NFL teams seem to have soured on his potential for whatever reason.

Shedeur Sanders sounds like he knows a slide is coming on draft night

It appears that even Sanders himself knows it. On Thursday just hours before the draft, Sanders posted one final message on X. Fans couldn't help but notice that he was practically preparing himself for disappointment on the first night of the draft.

For a week or two it felt like Sanders had two legitimate chances to be a first round pick: at No. 9 to the New Orleans Saints and No. 21 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Then came a report that his Steelers meeting went horribly. Then came reports that the Saints aren't very interested, at least not with a high pick.

No one can truly know what will happen until the draft officially starts up on Thursday night. But it sounds like Sanders could be in for a rollercoaster ride, and he knows it.
