- NFL. Shilo Sanders Family: All about the family tree of Coach Prime's second son
Controversial Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless didn't hold back this week, launching into a fiery tirade against the New York Giants for their decision in the NFL Draft. The Giants, who were widely expected to make a splash at quarterback, raised eyebrows by selecting Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart instead of the heavily hyped Shedeur Sanders - son of NFL legend Deion Sanders.
Bayless called the move "laughably sad," adding that the Giants ed on a generational talent in favor of "a guy who got benched at USC." Dart, while showing flashes of potential in the SEC, has struggled with consistency throughout his college career. Bayless argued that Sanders not only brings superior poise and arm talent but also has a star presence that could've rejuvenated the struggling franchise.
"Shedeur Sanders is the total package," Bayless said on FS1's Undisputed. "He's got the pedigree, the accuracy, the leadership-and you take Jaxson Dart? Who made that decision, and why do they still have a job?"
Bayless: Giants missed their 'next Eli Manning'
The analyst didn't stop at Dart. Bayless questioned the entire Giants front office, calling their draft strategy "clueless" and saying it showed a "lack of football IQ." He even compared the move to New York's infamous misfires in recent drafts, suggesting the franchise is once again prioritizing short-term fixes over long-term solutions.
"Shedeur could've been the next Eli Manning for them," Bayless said. "This was their shot, and they completely blew it."
Sanders, who starred at Colorado under his father Deion, remains on the board as teams re-evaluate their draft plans. Meanwhile, Dart will face enormous pressure to prove he's the right man to lead Big Blue-a reality that Bayless believes the Giants are "completely unprepared" for.
