Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders is on a mission to take the Colorado Buffaloes football program to an even greater level next regular season, as the NFL Hall of Famer looks to take his team to the top of the nation.

Even though he lost major stars at the beginning of the year, including his son Shedeur Sanders - who was one of the best quarterbacks in the country and who broke records at Colorado -, and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter to the NFL Draft.

Deion believes that he has the quarterback problem solved with a major internal battle between veteran college player Kaidon Salter and freshman sensation Julian Lewis going at it for the starting position, and recently added superstars such as former five-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams, hoping to take Colorado to new heights.

Can Tyreek Hill Make a Significant Comeback in 2025?

Among many other things, Deion Sanders is one of the most influential personalities in sports, with his charisma and public speaking skills second to none. It's one of the reasons why he has been so succesful during his head coach career at the college level.

"Coach Prime" loves to spread his wisdom, and he loves it even more when his loved ones receive the message, no matter the age. That's the case of his first grandson, Snow Jacquees Sanders-Broadnax, who's already a big fan of his Hall of Famer grandfather. Snow is the son of Deiondra Sanders and singer Jacquees.

A video posted on Instagram shows Snow paying close attention to one of Deion's videos where he gives out a piece of advice to young people, and as Sanders is talking, the toddler reacts with joy and waves at his grandad, as his mom Deiondra looks with pride. It's no wonder that the first grandson of Deion Sanders has brought immense joy to the familiy.

Sanders seeks to snatch his first recruit for 2026

A constant criticism of Deion Sanders' roster strategy is his overreliance on the transfer portal. "Coach Prime" typically builds his teams with veterans from other colleges, largely ignoring high school talent, which is the foundation of most college teams.

However, Sanders is already taking concrete steps to address this problem. The Buffs helmsman recently met with quarterback Oscar Rios, hoping to convince him to choose Boulder as the next stop in his rising career and take the program to glory. A junior player from Downey, California, Rios made a splash at the Under Armour Next Camp on May 5. "Coach Prime" and Rios agreed to a visit to Boulder in the coming weeks.

The problem? Colorado is the last school on Rios' list. With a 2,600-yard per season arm, the QB is one of the most coveted prospects by the NCAA's top programs. Oscar has offers from seven schools, has already visited Kentucky and Oklahoma State, and his next stops are UCLA, Virginia Tech, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado.
