Julian Lewis wants to leave it all behind. The young quarterback is taking the next step in his career under center for the Colorado Buffaloes and under the guidance of the legendary Deion Sanders. However, before focusing on his new mission, "JuJu" closed a major cycle in his life with a moving message to his former school.
Lewis is among the most highly anticipated prospects in the 2025 recruiting class. After forgoing his fourth year of high school to Coach Prime'sBuffs, Lewis has shown maturity and leadership on and off the field.
Spring football was the perfect showcase for JuJu to demonstrate what separates him from his greatest competitor, senior quarterback Kaidon Salter. On the other hand, a gathering at his home with the rest of the 2025 recruits showed what kind of leader Lewis would be off the field.
Julian's farewell to his former classmates
Just this Friday, Lewis had his early high school graduation and didn't hesitate to share the happy moment with his followers by posting a photo on X (formerly Twitter) wearing his cap and gown moments before taking the stage to receive his diploma.
JuJu accompanied the photo with a brief but powerful message: "Forever grateful Trojan Nation," bidding farewell to his former teammates, teachers, and fans of Carrollton High School. More than just a goodbye, fans and media saw in this message the symbolic closing of a cycle and the beginning of a new one.
The competition is just beginning for Julian
With his high school career over, it's time for Lewis to put all his energy into his career with the Buffaloes. Following Shedeur Sanders's departure to the NFL, Lewis and Salter will not only be competing with each other but also with Sanders' legacy.
However, JuJu isn't shying away from the competition. Coach Prime's new protégé arrived in Boulder to make an immediate impact on the team, and anyone who wants to stand in his way will have to fight their hardest to take that right away.
