The social waters of Nantucket have turned choppy for Jordon Hudson, the 24-year-old girlfriend of NFL legend Bill Belichick.
Despite her efforts to integrate into the island's tightly knit philanthropic and elite circles, sources say Hudson is being quietly shut out - largely due to lingering loyalties to Linda Holliday, Belichick's longtime partner of 16 years.
"Linda's deeply embedded in Nantucket's social and charity scene," one insider told Page Six. "That's always been her space. Jordon's trying to step into it now, but it's not going over well."
Social circles stick with Linda as Jordon faces resistance
Hudson, who recently finished third in the Miss Maine pageant, may be used to pageant stages, but navigating the island's exclusive social web appears to be a different challenge altogether. "It's a very discerning crowd," said a second source. "If she walked into somewhere like Galley Beach, most people would roll their eyes."
That same source described the island's social dynamic as "extremely cliquey," where community are selective about who's welcomed into their charitable efforts and private gatherings. "They don't open doors for people they don't see as a cultural fit," they said.
Hudson's youth and her relationship timeline with Belichick, now 73, have only fueled speculation. The pair reportedly met in 2021 during a flight from Boston to Florida, when Hudson was still a college student.
According to TMZ, Belichick was charmed by her philosophy coursework, even autographing her "Deductive Logic" textbook with a flirtatious note - all while still publicly linked to Holliday.
Belichick and Holliday's split was confirmed in 2023, but some onlookers are still questioning the overlap. "It makes people uncomfortable," said the second source. "They wonder if Jordon came into the picture before Linda was out of it."
Public appearances raise eyebrows, not approval
Hudson hasn't only raised eyebrows with her sudden presence on Nantucket. She's also been increasingly visible as Belichick's unofficial handler during media appearances - including one awkward moment in a CBS interview this April when she cut him off mid-question, telling the host, "He's not talking about this."
More recently, Belichick appeared solo on Good Morning America. When asked about Hudson, he offered only: "Well, we have a good personal relationship. And, you know, I'm not talking about personal relationships, Michael, you know that."
Despite the cold reception in Nantucket, Hudson continues to hold a prominent place in Belichick's personal life.
Earlier this month, he was spotted in Portland, Maine, quietly ing her from the front row during the Miss Maine pageant. Hudson had previously considered dropping out of the competition following the CBS interview drama but went on to finish third - a result that ended her bid for Miss USA.
The setting of her stay - a Holiday Inn - raised even more judgment from critics. "That's just not seen as elegant around here," said the source. "Competing in Miss Maine and staying at the Holiday Inn isn't the kind of thing that impresses Nantucket society."
As it stands, Hudson may have won Belichick's heart, but Nantucket's elite seem firmly aligned with Holliday - and aren't ready to the social crown just yet.
