- NFL. Shedeur Sanders' real battle with the Browns: Holding onto QB1 role amid weak ing cast
- NFL. Shedeur Sanders spent $500,000 on a gift to himself; Spoiler: Browns and NFL fans didn't like it one bit
Deion Sanders, who today coaches the Colorado Bufffaloes, knew how to be on the playing side.
He dominated his position as a cornerback and his exploits took him to the Hall of Fame. And it is in this position that he has been harshly criticized for bringing in a player with a particular detail to occupy it.
Following the departure from the team of Travis Hunter, chosen second overall by Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2025 NFL Draft, the position was vacated.
Sanders would have seemed to have found Tyrecus Davis, a 5-foot-11 cornerback from Wyoming who has one year of eligibility remaining, the perfect candidate. But for fans that was not the case.
"Holy downgrade," wrote one in reference to Travis Hunter's 6'6" height and Davis' height. "Good luck with that move. Don't see it," commented another.
However, some of them showed their kinder and more optimistic side, leaving their message for the young man: "Welcome to the Buffs Tyrecus. One big year is coming up for you", "Welcome to the herd, young man", or "Excellent decision young man", were some of them on X.
Who is Tyrecus Davis?
The former Wyoming Cowboys has a very interesting palmares, since in his time with his team he has achieved 60 solo tackles, two interceptions, three fumbles recovered and 15 es deflected.
But what stands out and encourages Buffs fans are his exploits during his final season with Wyoming, as he racked up 42 tackles, 36 of which were solo and deflected 8 times.
Davis was the team's 30th overall addition.
