NFL Injury Report Fantasy: What happens if a Fantasy player is injured during a game?

With less than a week to go until the start of the 2023 NFL season with the opening game between the Detroit Lions visiting the champion Kansas City Chiefs, it's also open season to your team in the different Fantasy Football leagues around the league.

Fantasy leagues have had a notable increase in popularity among fans, especially the NFL, which has many platforms in different sites to build your team and compete against your friends or against strangers, and in several occasions even with money involved.

In recent years the concept of a Fantasy league has become a very attractive prospect for sports fans, but like everything else, you are always exposed to a countless variety of factors that can improve and spoil the performance of your Fantasy team, for example, player injuries.

What happens if a Fantasy player gets injured?

If a player is injured during a game, their Fantasy points will only count up to the time of the injury.

Any points they accumulate after the injury will not count towards the final score.

It is important to know that the points accumulated by the injured player will not be deducted from your final score, i.e. the points you obtained before your player's injury will remain in the final tally.

Another piece of good news is that you can replace your injured player and make changes in your roster prior to the start of each game, because once the game starts and if you did not make the change, the system will not allow you to make the change, or if he gets injured during the game, you will not be able to replace him.

In addition, once one of your players is injured, the salary will still count towards the total salary cap.

This ensures that participants cannot simply select the most expensive players and then replace them if they get injured.

Injured players are still eligible for the following matches, although as we know, performance will certainly be affected depending on the severity of the injury, so it is important to keep track of your players' injury information when making your starting team.

We know that injuries are always a part of sports, and in this case they can influence team performance in Fantasy Football, so you must be prepared and adapt your team according to the medical reports of each team week after week in order not to lose points and be as successful as possible in your league.
