An NFL analyst reveals he believes Shedeur Sanders will only end up in the professional leagues because of his surname, becoming the latest personality to suggest the 22-year-old benefits from nepotism.

The son of Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders, the young quarterback worked with his dad at the Colorado Buffaloes and produced an impressive season by ing for 37 touchdowns and over 4000 yards, striking up a close connection with Travis Hunter.

That means he has been tipped with penning a deal at the likes of the Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants but Louis Riddick doesn't think his talent is the true reason behind the hype.

"People have been at this game, so to speak, of trying to talk certain prospects down for years," Riddick said on The Dan Patrick Show. "Deion is a lightning rod. That's where it starts.

"It doesn't even start with Shedeur. It starts with his father, then it just trickles down to him."

The development comes after Pat Shurmur, who formerly coached the Giants and worked with Shedeur as an offensive coordinator at the Buffaloes, suggested all 32 teams are interested either the QB or the Heisman Trophy-winning Hunter.

"I've talked to all 32 teams, some of them multiple times," Shurmur said, as per Jake Schanwanitz. "Some of those teams oughta get an Airbnb out here [in Boulder, CO].

"If you need a quarterback, draft Shedeur. If you don't need a quarterback, take Travis. As my daughter would say, it's not that deep."

Why are teams worried about Sheduer?

Despite his impressive statistics at Folsom Field in the NCAA, team find themselves unsure of whether they commit to Coach Prime's son ranging from reasons such as his off-field personality, weaknesses in his game and even next year's NFL Draft.

Shedeur embraces his hobbies away from the gridiron and notable enjoys fashion and music, trying to forge a career in the latter, which is something NFL scouts fear suggests he doesn't take the sport as seriously as he should.

Additionally, there's worries about his ability to read defenses and make clean, swift decisions, making scouts and organizations hesitant to rush to pen the youngster to a rookie deal.

And following on from that, Arch Manning will likely enter the 2026 NFL Draft and he is already being hyped as the next big thing to the point where the Tennessee Titans were tipped to be willing to skip a QB pick in this draft entirely to land the Texas Longhorns star.
