Kay Adams 'injured' after golf ball hits her in the head and she finds the culprit in the NFL

The NFL stars picked up their driver clubs for the NFLPA Golf Classic, and it proved to be surprisingly more dangerous than you'd expect as Kay Adams found herself struck in the side of the head by a stray ball, prompting her to find her accidental assailant.

Stars such as the Las Vegas Raiders' Brock Bowers, Detroit Lions' Aiden Hutchinson, New England Patriots' Drake Maye and Washington Commanders' Terry McLaurin attended but it was the Denver Broncos' Courtland Sutton who was the subject of mistaken identity.

Adams, who was there on her media obligations and duties, found herself with a lucky escape after a golf ball whacked her head and prompted her to take a minute to collect herself and stop the world spinning.

As a true journalist, she then launched her own investigation to get to the bottom of who launched the ball and eventually discovered it was the Houston Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn, before confronting the kicker.

"What do we expect? 72 of your favorite players who are yolked out of their minds and competitive," Adams said on her most recent Up and Adams show. "And don't have any accuracy are trying to Will Zalatoris themselves to a title.

"I was scared. My head was on a swivel. Courtland might be the sweetest wide receiver on God's green earth. I was like, 'I'm suing you, I'm mad at you. I can't believe you did that.'

"But then we found the culprit. I talked to him [Fairbairn] after and gave him a lot of grief for it. It's just hilarious. Of course, that would happen to me."

When is the NFL back?

NFL players are currently enjoying their spring and summers following the Kansas City Chiefs' brutal 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9, but when will they be back in action?

Jalen Hurts' Eagles will kick off the 2025/26 NFL season as champions on Thursday, September 4.

Their opponents are yet to be revealed.
