Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh on Monday credited an unusual source with his team's refusal to give up the lead once it's gone ahead.
"My mom always says get the lead, keep the lead," Harbaugh said -- and those wise words have the Ravens in a great spot atop the AFC North.
The Ravens dominated the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, notching a 37-3 win that was every bit as overwhelming as the score suggests. For the second time in three weeks at M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore rang up 500 yards of total offense and won by at least 30 points. The margin of victory saw the Ravens take over as the NFL's leaders in point differential -- a barometer of a team's dominance, and often a good indicator as to its Super Bowl chances.
Ravens standing out in brutal division
Baltimore took advantage of Cincinnati's slow start and continues to lead the AFC North -- a demanding division in which all four teams have a winning record.
The Ravens still have three more games against each one of their division rivals, but only blowout losses will threaten their gaudy point differential as the NFL's best. Baltimore is on pace to outscore its opponents by 230 points. This would be the one of the largest differentials in the league over the past 20 years -- but still not close to the all-time record of plus-315, set by the New England Patriots in 2007.

Defensive dominance
Sunday marked the fourth time already this season in which the Ravens have held an opponent to under 10 points. It's an impressive achievement from a defensive unit that has allowed only 124 points in nine games -- making it the toughest team to score against in the NFL.
The Ravens limited the high-flying Seahawks offense to only 151 total yards in Sunday's game, forcing two turnovers in the process and not allowing Seattle's run game to get going (28 yards on the afternoon). Baltimore now ranks seventh in rushing yards allowed and second in yards while facing the .
The Ravens next have consecutive AFC North clashes against the Browns and Bengals -- who are rounding into form after a slow start thanks to Joe Burrow's visible improvement.
