In a year where the only goal for the Buffalo Bills is reaching the Super Bowl, the team has kicked off its organized team activities (OTAs)-in short, the voluntary offseason workouts-where the current NFL MVP, quarterback Josh Allen, was present.
All eyes are on Josh Allen this week, not just because he's one of the best players in the league, but because he's getting married to his girlfriend Hailee Steinfeld this coming weekend. That's why it was surprising to see him at practice from day one, a clear sign of his commitment to the team.
Josh Allen has skipped OTAs before-back in 2022, he took a couple of days off to play in the golf tournament "The Match." But now, even with his mind likely on what will be one of the most special days of his life, his wedding, he's still showing up as the leader of the Buffalo Bills, taking part in the start of team workouts.
Sean McDermott, Head Coach of the Bills, praises Josh Allen
There's no doubt that Josh Allen is the most beloved figure within the Buffalo Bills franchise-by the staff, his teammates, and especially the fans. The Bills' number 17 is the most ired man in Western New York.
Head Coach Sean McDermott once again offered high praise for Josh Allen, not only as a player but especially as the great person he is.
"I think it says everything," McDermott told reporters. "He is the face of our organization. He is the leader of our team. When he's here, like anything else as a leader, it speaks and it holds a tremendous amount of weight. Like any leader, and in particular the leader of the team, those words that he says and his actions are exponentially impactful to the whole roster, the whole team."
Josh Allen didn't speak to the media, but McDermott was also asked about Allen's wedding, to which he replied confidently that he wouldn't be discussing that topic.
"I'm not going to get into any of that. Good try," McDermott said. "But he is as confident and calm, cool and collected as he always is."
So this weekend, all eyes will be on Josh Allen's wedding to Hailee Steinfeld, and it will be interesting to see who's on the guest list for the event hosted by one of the NFL's top stars. Will Patrick Mahomes attend?
