Shedeur Sanders has shown that the Cleveland Browns have made a very good decision in stopping their slide in the 2025 NFL Draft.
During the team's rookie minicamp, the quarterback selected 144th overall in the fifth round has made a very good impression.
In addition, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame feels the same way. Kurt Warner stopped by "The Jim Rome Show" and was asked about Shedeur's performance but his NFL experience at the quarterback position.
Far from hiding his praise, the former Green Bay Packers standout noted that he was "not a fifth-round prospect" in his opinion:
My evaluation was, [Sanders was] the most accurate quarterback I've gotten in this draft. When he sets his feet, when he's comfortable in the pocket, he delivers the football, the ball goes where he wants it to go.
In addition, the former Arizona Cardinals warned that Sanders is improving day by day and that "all of these guys coming out of the draft this year, I believe must improve if they're going to be great quarterbacks in the NFL".
In closing, Warner ended by saying that he is anxious to see how "this quarterback roster develops in Cleveland."
The fight for the starting job
With four options to fill the quarterback position, the Browns will have a tough decision to make and the option of releasing one of them is not out of the question.
Shedeur Sanders is ed by Dillon Gabriel, who was acquired by the Browns during the third round of the Draft, is one of their competitors. In addition, options include Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, who were already with the team, and Deshaun Watson who is recovering from his Achilles injury.
And although Sanders has shown great results, the Browns, for the moment, do not have a clear starter. For this reason, each of the contenders will have to push themselves to the limit.
