Kevin Stefanski has a tough job ahead with the Cleveland Browns. The head coach has been named NFL Coach of the Year twice with the Browns, in 2020 and 2023. Despite that, the team seems unable to find direction-they have a great season, and then they collapse. That's been the pattern in recent years with Cleveland.

Even so, before Kevin Stefanski, the Browns were the worst team in the NFL. But with some good decisions in 2020 and 2023, the head coach led the team to the playoffs. Now, however, he appears to be facing difficult times that he'll need to overcome in order to keep his job in Cleveland.

Deion Sanders and Shedeur Sanders put all 32 NFL teams on notice

Last year, they missed the playoffs in a dreadful season. In Week 9, they lost quarterback Deshaun Watson to an Achilles tendon injury. Although, in truth, he hadn't shown much before that. That's why the Browns have been making moves to find direction at the quarterback position.

Right now, Deshaun Watson remains out and may still be sidelined in 2025. Because of that, they signed experienced quarterbacks Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett. In addition, in the recent NFL Draft, they selected two quarterbacks: Dillon Gabriel from Oregon and the media-sensation Shedeur Sanders from Colorado, so the competition will be intense.

Shedeur Sanders' Message Raises Doubts About Kevin Stefanski

Why Did Shedeur Sanders Slide All the Way to the Fifth Round?

Shedeur Sanders was projected to be picked in the first round of the recent NFL Draft. Had that happened, he would've entered the league as one of its rising stars. But after unexpectedly falling to the fifth round, doubts may have crept into the mind of Deion Sanders' son.

The competition is very tough with the Browns. Joe Flacco is a Super Bowl MVP, Kenny Pickett was a first-round pick by the Steelers, and Dillon Gabriel was selected two rounds earlier than Sanders. So, there are several obstacles Sanders must overcome to earn a spot-not just with the Browns, but in the NFL.

After rookie minicamp, when asked if he was ready for the NFL challenge, he responded: "I'm not sure." These words could have consequences, as in a league as demanding as the NFL, players are expected to show mental toughness. And with that answer, it seems Sanders may not be showing that yet.

So, it will be important to see what happens with the quarterback position on the Cleveland Browns-a saga that will surely have many more chapters and continue to generate plenty of buzz.
