- NFL. QB Bryce Young's stature limiting Panthers' offensive playbook
- NFL. Garrett Wilson eager to beat Patriots: 'It's time we do what we get paid for'
Football is a violent sport, with players on both sides running high on emotions and adrenaline. It's why we see so much bickering and so many fights break out on the field. But many times, once the game is over, we see players from both teams come together at midfield and embrace after 60 minutes of battle.
Those meetups sometimes provide moments of brilliance. That's exactly what happened following the Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Jets game. In a video shared by Inside the NFL, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Jets cornerback Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner are seen and heard conversing about Prescott not throwing in Gardner's direction, as well as of a potential pick-six that Gardner dropped.
Gardner mentioned he had touchdown on his mind before he corralled the ball, leading to the drop. Prescott humorously responded with "I appreciate that" and "I owe you something".
Prescott and the Cowboys got the better of the Jets on Sunday. The Jets offense only mustered 10 points, while Prescott was extremely sharp and efficient through the air. But Prescott decided to avoid Gardner for most of the game, choosing instead to pick on other cornerbacks. He didn't throw in the All-Pro's direction because he "didn't need to".
Gardner has earned that respect from Prescott and other quarterbacks around the league. But while Prescott kept it respectful with Gardner, Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb straight up told the cornerback he needs to catch those potential interceptions.
