Could Micah Parsons be set to sensationally quit the Dallas Cowboys and head to the Chicago Bears to unite with Caleb Williams following a now-deleted cryptic social media post that could see Dak Prescott lose one of the best players on his team in a quest for a Super Bowl ring?
Jerry Jones' Cowboys are in quite the conundrum as they find themselves faced needing to keep all of CeeDee Lamb, Parsons and Prescott at the AT&T Stadium but it appears the owner of the organization isn't keen to pay that much for all three.
Lamb just extended his deal with the franchise in what is a key g after the young receiver's exceptional 2023 season and now it's down to Parsons and Prescott although the linebacker could actually take that decision off their hands.
Williams reposted a tweet saying that the Cowboys now likely cannot afford to keep Parsons and suggested that the Bears should trade for him meaning the rookie quarterback seems very keen on the idea.
Although he quickly undid the repost, fans were too fast and have already reacted to a screenshot of the incident on X.com, formerly Twitter.
One asked, "What QB wouldn't want Micah parsons on defense?"
Whilst a second said, "Caleb thinks he LeBron already," in a reference to LeBron James' star power in the NBA.
Whilst a third wrote, "I thought caleb was going to rush the er as well. Mr do it all."
Could Parsons leave the Cowboys?
Parsons will remain with the Cowboys for the 2024/25 NFL season at the moment after the franchise picked up an option on him worth $21m, although this is thought to fall well below his market value of around $30m.
So whilst Parsons, an elite defensive player, could head for new pastures at the end of the season there seems to be nothing solid linking him to the Bears yet other than Williams' cryptic message.
But Williams, who kicks off his NFL season on September 8 at 18:00 ET, will hope the General Manager, Ryan Poles, heard his message loud and clear.
