- NCAA. Deion Sanders has a message for all the Colorado Buffaloes haters
Deion Sanders may claim he's content in Colorado, but calls for him to head to Texas and rescue the struggling Dallas Cowboys are growing louder. The latest voice to the chorus? None other than Cowboys legend Michael Irvin.
It's no secret that the Cowboys are in the midst of a crisis. With a dismal 3-6 record, they're sitting third in the NFC East, and their playoff hopes are fading fast.
Amid this bleak scenario, Michael Irvin has taken it upon himself to play advisor to team owner Jerry Jones, urging him to bring in Coach Prime.
Irvin planting seeds in Jones' ear
During a brief chat at the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight, Irvin shared his iration for Jake Paul's unconventional rise in boxing and entertainment, quickly pivoting to Deion Sanders as a comparison.
"Everybody loves and respects Jake [Paul] for what he's done here. To have the ability to not go the normal route and still end up right here-you give him respect," Irvin said. Then, he wasted no time pushing his agenda.
"I give him respect like I give my great guy Deion Sanders, who didn't go the normal route," Irvin hinted, before making his intentions clear: "Who I'm gonna be in Jerry's ear about later. That's just something else we're talking about."
Irvin won't let it go
While Jones deflected the conversation, it's clear Irvin isn't dropping the idea anytime soon. Recently, on Fox Sports' Speak, Irvin even spoke directly to Sanders, asking if he'd consider taking on the Cowboys'head coaching role.
Sanders, ever the showman, humorously deflected by showing off the stunning view of the Rockies from the University of Colorado campus.
Whether Irvin's dream becomes a reality remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: fans and analysts alike agree that Coach Prime and the Cowboys could be a game-changing combination.
