Amid rumors of a possible Dak Prescott trade, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys attend the Pro Day of an elite quarterback available for the Draft

In recent days, information has leaked that the Dallas Cowboys might be looking to trade Dak Prescott to the Cleveland Browns, a move that would undoubtedly shake up the NFL. However, the situation has gradually cooled down, and Dak remains the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.

The reality is that the Cowboys are indeed searching for a quarterback, but only a backup at this time. This comes after Dallas lost Cooper Rush in free agency a couple of weeks ago. Rush, who had been the backup since 2017, signed a two-year contract to take on the same role with the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC.

The Cowboys have not been active in free agency in their search for a new quarterback, nor did they re-sign Trey Lance. This suggests that Dallas is likely to address the position in the Draft.

The Cowboys have been closely monitoring Jaxson Dart, quarterback from Ole Miss

The Cowboys' new head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, was seen closely watching Jaxson Dart at Ole Miss' Pro Day. While Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are projected to be the first quarterbacks selected in the Draft, Dart is also generating buzz.

The Mississippi Clarion Ledger, which first reported the news, indicated that Schottenheimer was not alone-he was accompanied by New Orleans Saints' new head coach, Kellen Moore. The Saints hold the ninth overall pick in the first round and may also be in the market for a quarterback.

"Obviously, Jaxson Dart was the main attraction... He threw the ball extremely well. The receivers caught it well, except for a few drops at the end when they got tired. Exciting to see so many NFL personnel in attendance," analysts from SEC Network commented during the event.

Landing Dart could be challenging for the Cowboys. Some analysts project him as a first-round pick (potentially to the Pittsburgh Steelers), or as an early second-round selection. This means Dallas would have to make a significant effort to secure him.

Dart had a stellar 2024 season and could be a surprise in the NFL

The Ole Miss quarterback had an outstanding final season with the Rebels, amassing 10,617 ing yards and suring the record of an Ole Miss and NFL legend, Eli Manning.
