Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson was forced to exit Sunday's game against the Houston Texans due to a concussion sustained in the first half.

The incident occurred early in the second quarter, just as the Colts were maintaining a 14-7 lead. Richardson was escorted to the locker room and later on, was ruled out for the rest of the game.

Costly TD for the Colts

The injury that sidelined Richardson appeared to happen during a designed run play, where he dashed 15 yards into the end zone. Unfortunately, he collided with Houston safety M.J. Stewart and took a hard hit, leading to his head hitting the turf.

Initially, Richardson seemed unfazed as he celebrated the touchdown, but his condition deteriorated shortly after.

Despite the injury, Richardson displayed his potential during the game, scoring the first two touchdowns and accumulating 56 ing yards on a 6-of-10 completion rate, in addition to 35 rushing yards.

Richardson's injury is of great concern for the Colts, as Richardson has been viewed as the future face of the franchise.

While the young quarterback had previously dealt with knee soreness in his first NFL start last week, he did not appear on the Week 2 injury report.
