Legacy isn't important to Patrick Mahomes: It's about having no regrets

Only wants to improve and win Super Bowls

It's somewhat rare for a 28-year-old quarterback to already have two Super Bowl championships to his name, but that is exactly the case for Patrick Mahomes, who is preparing to lead a charge towards a third title in 2023.

Tom Brady is rightly considered to be one of the greatest players to ever showcase his talents in the NFL, but in recent years there has been a rush to compare Mahomes to the retired veteran.

Mahomes, on his part, doesn't pay attention to such discussions, and instead prefers to focus on how he can improve as a player and just keep winning.

"I think everybody thinks about legacy and how they're ed, but you have to think about that at the same time, valuing every day and how you can become better," Mahomes told the AP Pro Football Podcast.

"That's how you can really maximize every single day.

"Then, whenever your career is done, you have no regrets, that's what I've always preached, it's not about success of that day, it's about having no regrets at the end of your career."

Mahomes is featured in new Netflix documentary

Despite wanting to focus on his on-field success, the Chiefs' quarterback plays a prominent role in the brand-new Netflix documentary 'The Quarterback'.

It is one of the newest looks inside an NFL locker room, as well as following the progress of a star like Mahomes.

He is expected to lead the Chiefs to a second successive title in 2023, although he feels that the loss of offensive coordinator, Eric Bieniemy, will be significant.

"It's definitely gonna be different," he added.

"He was a voice that's been in this locker room my entire career. To lose that voice, I'm excited for Washington because I know how inspiring he can be and how smart he was for us."
