- NFL. Jason Kelce shames Travis Kelce for his disgraceful beer chugging behavior at a classy event
- NFL. Lamar Jackson undergoes incredible, slimming body transformation during offseason
Despite not making many moves on the offensive end last offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs were once again triumphant in 2023, winning the Super Bowl for the second-consecutive season.
With Rashee Rice's situation up in the air and Travis Kelce turning 35 years old in October, the Chiefs need to keep upgrading their -catching weapons in order to keep Patrick Mahomes happy.
Could Chiefs trade up for Brock Bowers?
In order to counteract Kelce's aging by preparing for his eventual departure, NFL.com contributor Tom Blair has proposed a blockbuster trade for Kansas City to pick Brock Bowers in the NFL Draft.
The 34-year-old can't help anchor the offense forever, though, so in this scenario, Kansas City stops playing the lottery and goes hard for a legitimate blue-chipper. And yeah, that could mean grabbing a marquee receiver like Rome Odunze, should one fall to No. 9, but it would be even spicier for the Chiefs to nab tight end Brock Bowers... Plus, with Kelce still producing at a high level, Bowers would have the freedom to deal with the growing pains that typically hit rookie tight ends.
In order to move up from pick No. 32 to 9 and select Bowers, Blair believes the Chiefs would have to give up a boatload of important picks. In his proposal, the Chiefs would send the Chicago Bears a haul for the 9th pick.
- 2024 first round pick (32)
- 2024 second round pick (64)
- 2024 fourth round pick (131)
- 2025 first round pick
If anyone could afford to lose that many good picks, it's definitely the Chiefs. But it would be an extremely hefty price to pay for a tight end.
