Travis Kelce makes decision on Grammy Awards attendance with the Super Bowl looming

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce will not be attending the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, opting to stay focused on his team's preparations for the Super Bowl.

The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing to play in their third successive Super Bowl, and the veteran tight end wants to leave nothing to chance with regards to his preparation.

Despite his girlfriend Taylor Swift being confirmed as a presenter at the prestigious event, Kelce has chosen to prioritize his training ahead of the Chiefs' showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9 in New Orleans.

According to TMZ, the star tight end is staying committed to his team as they gear up for one of the biggest games of the year.

Such an approach is a thumb in the eye for those who have suggested Kelce has taken his eye off football since embarking on a high-profile romance with Swift, even though there has been next to no sign of poor focus on the field.

Kelce has missed the Grammy Awards before

This is not the first time Kelce has had to miss the Grammys due to his Super Bowl commitments. Last year, he was also absent from the ceremony as the Chiefs prepared for their championship clash against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.

The Grammy Awards, set to take place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, will still be a major night for Swift, who is also nominated in multiple categories. However, with Kelce locked in on his football responsibilities, fans will have to wait for another opportunity to see the couple attending an event together.

Swift will also be heavily featured at the event, with the host also in line to win up to six awards. She has six nominations including 'Album of the Year', 'Song of the Year' and 'Record of the Year'.
