Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is locked in for Super Bowl LIX, but that doesn't mean he isn't keeping up with his favorite artists.

During Monday's Super Bowl Opening Night press conference at the Superdome in New Orleans, the two-time Super Bowl MVP shared his iration for Kendrick Lamar-the hip-hop legend headlining this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Mahomes, known for his competitive spirit on the field, also has strong musical tastes. When asked about his current playlist, the star quarterback revealed that he's been listening to Kendrick Lamar's latest album, "GNX".

"That album is top tier," Mahomes said, before highlighting "Dodger Blue" as one of his favorite tracks.

Unfortunately for Mahomes, he won't be able to enjoy Lamar's halftime performance as much as the millions watching at home.

Instead, he'll be in the locker room, strategizing with his team in hopes of leading the Chiefs to an NFL-first Super Bowl three-peat against the Philadelphia Eagles.

While Lamar is set to headline the halftime show, it has already been confirmed that R&B star SZA will be making a guest appearance.

However, fans are still speculating about a possible surprise performance-particularly from Taylor Swift.

Mahomes on Swift Halftime Show speculation

With Swift expected to be in attendance, some have wondered whether she might make a surprise appearance during the halftime show.

A reporter at the press conference even asked Mahomes to help make it happen, but the Chiefs quarterback quickly shut that down.

"As long as [Travis Kelce] is playing and we're in the Super Bowl, it's going to be hard for her to do the halftime show," Mahomes stated. "So hopefully, Trav keeps playing and we keep making it to the Super Bowl."

Mahomes' response made it clear that Swift's priority on Sunday will be cheering for Kelce and the Chiefs, not performing on the big stage.

Despite not performing, Swift's presence at the game will undoubtedly generate massive attention. She has been to nine Chiefs games this season, and the team has remained undefeated (9-0) in those matchups.

Given the undeniable "Swift effect", it's no surprise that she'll remain a focal point of Super Bowl coverage-even from the stands.
