Travis Kelce has cashed in after making it known that he will return for another season with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 35-year-old's future was a huge talking point following Super Bowl LIX after the Chiefs fell 40-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kelce didn't have a good game that day, with many wondering if he would retire or if the Chiefs would move on from him.

However, after taking some time to gather his thoughts, Kelce recently announced that he will be back in 2025 in hopes of leading the Chiefs to further glory.

His announcement was the first domino to fall in place, with the second happening on March 14. That's the day Kelce was due an $11.5 million active roster bonus, which the Chiefs have paid.

The Chiefs had set a March 15 deadline for Kelce to make a decision on his future, as he has one year remaining on his current contract with a base salary of $4.5 million.

Kelce and Chiefs have been a strong pairing

Since drafting in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Kelce has become one of the greatest tight ends to play in league history.

Amongst his many accomplishments, Kelce has been named First-Team All-Pro four times as well as 10 Pro Bowls.

Kelce talked about his love for the game during a New Heights podcast episode with brother Jason.

"The biggest thing is that I love playing the game of football. I love playing," Travis told Jason.

"I still feel like I can play it at a high level, and possibly at a higher level than I did last year.

"I don't think it was my best outing.

"I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them.

"I got a bad taste in my mouth on how I ended the year and how well I was playing."

Kelce finished with a career low 823 receiving yards last season to go along with just three touchdowns.
