The Las Vegas Raiders have been struggling to find consistency at quarterback since parting ways withDerek Carr after the 2022 season. While Carr wasn't an elite signal-caller, he gave the team a fighting chance for nearly a decade. Since then, the Raiders have cycled through multiple quarterbacks, none of whom have solidified their claim to the starting job.

With the 2024 offseason in full swing, speculation is growing about a major move that could change the team's trajectory. NFL.com's Nick Shook recently suggested that Aaron Rodgers might be an option for the Raiders, and the presence of Tom Brady as a minority owner could play a key role in making it happen.

Awful play! Aaron Rodgers' last with Davante Adams

Rodgers' situation with the New York Jets is murky at best. After a devastating Achilles injury in Week 1 of the 2023 season, he missed the entire year. Now, with reports indicating that new Jets head coach Aaron Glenn doesn't see him as part of the team's long-term plans, the door may be open for Rodgers to move on.

Shook pointed out that Brady's influence on the Raiders could be a game-changer. "Tom Brady's minority ownership seems to carry a ton of influence over the organization, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he pushed the Raiders to pursue a fellow legend who, like Brady, needed a new home to finish out his career,"he wrote.

Is Rodgers the missing piece for the Raiders?

The Raiders are clearly in need of a quarterback who can help them compete in the loaded AFC West. Aidan O'Connell showed flashes of promise last season, but he's not yet proven to be a franchise quarterback. Rodgers, despite his age and recent injury, remains one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league. The question is whether the Raiders are willing to pay the price-both in salary and potential trade compensation-to bring him in.

According to Spotrac, Rodgers carries a cap hit exceeding $35 million for 2024, which would require some financial maneuvering by the Raiders. But the potential upside is undeniable: Rodgers' arrival could immediately make the team a playoff contender.

Whether this move materializes remains to be seen, but with Brady's growing influence in the organization and Rodgers' uncertain future in New York, it's a scenario worth watching as the offseason progresses.
