- NFL. Aaron Rodgers may have already made a decision about his future: Is he retiring after the latest moves?
- NFL. Vikings don't close the door on Aaron Rodgers despite their bid for J.J. McCarthy: Is quarterback drama coming to Minnesota?
Most of the big name free agents in the NFL have found new homes, but one name remains without a new team: Aaron Rodgers.
With Sam Darnold finding a new home with the Seattle Seahawks and Russell Wilson ing the New York Giants, most of the pieces when it comes to the quarterback landscape have already landed in place.
However Rodgers remains a question mark despite being linked with teams like the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
During the recent episode of The Rush, Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby talked about Rodgers' future and made a bold prediction.
"I think he retires. I have been saying it and the fact that he is not with Davante and he's not very familiar with Pittsburgh. I feel like he retires. He is about 42 now. I just don't see that as a thing. I can't see him in a Pittsburgh uniform," said Crosby.
Crosby's prediction is a bold one, as it would mean bringing an end to the career of one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game.
Rodgers taking his time
You can see where Crosby is coming from given Rodgers is taking his time in deciding his next move.
However, the holdup shouldn't come as a surprise as Rodgers seems to love the attention that comes with delaying a decision.
It's probably a wise decision as well, as Rodgers is looking to bounce back after two disappointing seasons with the New York Jets. Having won four MVPs in his career, Rodgers likely doesn't want to make another misstep when it comes to his Hall of Fame career.
Rodgers is also likely weighing the kind of offers he's receiving also. While the Steelers have a rich history and winning culture under Mike Tomlin, it's likely they are offering Rodgers a one-year deal in which he has to prove he still has what it takes to lead an NFL team.
Given his playing days are almost at an end, one can't fault Rodgers for wanting some sort of stability and a two-year deal. Either way, Rodgers can't wait much longer or run the risk of having no doors open when it comes to being a starting quarterback in the NFL next season.
