The Raiders franchise seems to be on the rise. Last year they finished last in the AFC West, where they compete against three AFC powerhouses: the conference champions, the Chiefs, the Chargers and the Broncos. Therefore, for 2025, the team has implemented new measures in order to take a step forward in quality

In addition to the arrival of a new and renowned coach in the form of Pete Carroll, they also brought in an experienced quarterback in Geno Smith and now they have had a great draft, led by their new general manager John Spytek, who managed to recruit several key pieces to give the team enough talent to head in the right direction

Their main asset since the Draft is running back Ashton Jeanty in the first round, considered a generational talent around whom an offense can be built as an immediate impact player. Other names include Jack Bech and Darien Porter.

According to Chris Trao of CBS Sports, the Raiders were the team with the best Draft for the new season and they had to do it because they reached this point with many areas to improve in 2025

"General manager John Spytek, the least known of the new faces at the top of the organization, hit a home run on the Las Vegas Strip with his inaugural draft class," the analyst noted.

He added: "Jeanty is lightning in a bottle as a runner, Bech possesses the details for the receiver position that many NFL veterans don't have, and Rogers played more than 4,300 snaps at four different positions at Texas Tech."

Although they have a lot of talent, the franchise needs to continue improving in several areas, although they have a very young squad for the short-term objectives that the franchise is seeking to achieve
