Kelly Stafford set social media ablaze a couple of weeks ago by appearing on a podcast and boldly revealing that she slept with Matthew Stafford's backup quarterback while at Georgia in order to make him jealous.
Unsurprisingly, her comments drew widespread criticism from casual fans and even national media personalities alike. Many landed on Joe Cox, who spent three seasons with Stafford on the Bulldogs.
Kelly Stafford addresses Georgia backup QB situation again
Kelly took to Instagram on Tuesday night in order to clear the air and clear Cox's name, as he was not the backup in question. Cox has three children with his wife, who he met while at Georgia.
To this beautiful fam... I am sorry for the media storm that happened last week that made its way into your lives. You had ZERO involvement in what I spoke about and in fact, it was y'alls relationship in college that I looked up to and wanted for me and Matthew. You were the couple that everyone thinks Matthew and I was.. y'all were the UGA QB and cheerleader that met and never let go. I love y'all.
So not only did Kelly Stafford bring negative backlash towards herself, she also put a harmless family in the crosshairs as well.
This isn't the first time she has spoken out of turn. Last year, she revealed personal details about Matthew's relationship with the Los Angeles Rams rookies. He's likely hoping she doesn't make any more media appearances anytime soon.
