Tua Tagovailoa announced the date for his return. The Miami Dolphins quarterback will miss his second straight game in Week 18 of the NFL, but he has already warned that no matter what happens, he will be ready to play in the postseason.

Tagovailoa injured his hip in the loss to the Houston Texans in Week 15. The Dolphins signal-caller was still able to play in the win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16, but the team decided to sit him last week against the Cleveland Browns.

His absence for this Sunday's game against the New York Jets is now certain. So Tyler Huntley will have to stand under center again, looking for the victory that will keep the team in the fight for the playoffs.

I'll be back next week: Tagovailoa

In statements to the Miami Herald, the five-year veteran said, "I'm gonna be available next week. There's no ifs, ands, or buts. I'll be playing." He then itted, "Hell year. I'm frustrated."

It's no wonder. Adding the five games he missed due to the concussion he suffered in Week 2 and the two he will miss due to this hip injury, Tagovailoa missed almost half of a season that fans and analysts hoped would be his breakout season.

What's more, it's not even certain that his team will make the playoffs. In addition to beating Aaron Rodgers' unpredictable Jets, the Dolphins have to hope the Denver Broncos lose to a Kansas City Chiefs team that will rest almost all its starters after securing the AFC title.

Tagovailoa and fantasy football

With only one week left and Tagovailoa dragging this injury for a couple of weeks, it's unlikely that his absence will have a serious impact on your fantasy football team. But if you still have him on your roster, it's best to cut him while you can, as he won't score any points this week.

Injuries are an unwanted but inevitable part of a sport like football. However, Tagovailoa has shown unwavering resilience, and while this season may well be over for him, there's no doubt that we'll see him back next year with renewed spirit and health.
