- Cleveland Browns. Shedeur is in the NFL, but did Deion Sanders like his new team? The truth about the Cleveland Browns draft pick
While Deion Sanders' relationship with his son Shedeur often grabs headlines, Coach Prime also shares a close bond with Shilo. Social media videos highlight their dynamic, yet the young cornerback has one firm boundary in his relationship with his father-no fishing trips.
After going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and g as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Shilo is taking a well-deserved break ahead of rookie minicamp in a few weeks.
This downtime presents the perfect opportunity for father-son bonding-especially given Coach Prime's well-known love for fishing and Tampa Bay's reputation as a premier fishing destination. However, Shilo has made one thing abundantly clear: he won't be casting any lines with his dad, and he has a hilarious reason why.
Shilo won't take chances on a fishing trip
Deion Sanders' ability to turn a simple fishing trip into a disaster rivals his legendary talent on the football field. Stories of his mishaps are plentiful and, frankly, concerning.
That's why Shilo is steering clear of Florida waters, explaining, "I will never go fishing anywhere in Florida. I'm not fishing anywhere in Florida. Mess around and take my dad fishing, an alligator gonna take the rest of his toes. He doesn't have enough toes to play around, bro!"
Although Sanders lost two toes on his left foot due to post-surgical complications-not a fishing accident-Shilo still refuses to take any chances. With Florida's wildlife and his father's track record of fishing fiascos, it's a risk he's simply not willing to take.
Coach Prime's fishing disasters
Sanders himself shared in a 2024 interview that back in 1996, he was arrested and fined for tresing after fishing in a secluded lake near the Fort Myers Airport. Even worse, in 2020, Coach Prime took Antonio Brown on a fishing trip-only for the Steelers receiver to end up with a hook embedded in his foot.
Brown still hasn't forgiven Sanders for the ordeal, making his frustration known through a series of recent tweets. Given this history, it's easy to understand why Shilo refuses to test fate in the waters of Tampa Bay.
