- NFL. Shedeur Sanders rising aura begins cutting through the air among Browns teammates in the locker room
During the NFL offseason, we've seen several ongoing sagas: Shedeur Sanders' collapse in the Draft, the future of Aaron Rodgers, the contracts of Brock Purdy and Micah Parsons, the relationship between the Miami Dolphins and Tyreek Hill, and many more.
Some of these stories have come to an end, and others haven't. But let's focus on the one involving Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins. The star wide receiver has threatened several times to leave the franchise, despite being under contract, and in many of those instances, he backed down. Now it appears his future will remain with the Florida team.
Chris Grier, the Dolphins' general manager, said at a press conference that anyone wanting to acquire Tyreek Hill would need to give up two first-round draft picks, but no one has made such an offer. Hill himself stated that he is focused on taking the team to the Super Bowl.
Offensive coaches are impressed with Tyreek Hill's training
Tyreek Hill is still recovering from wrist surgery that he underwent during the offseason. Despite this, the receiver has been present and engaged in the team's training program, according to a couple of Dolphins assistant coaches this week.
"He has energy every day," said offensive coordinator Frank Smith to the Miami Herald. "He's making progress in his process. He's been excellent so far this offseason."
Additionally, receivers coach Robert Prince noted that Tyreek Hill has been training very well and has stayed close to the Dolphins' receiver group.
"If I text him, he replies. If I call him, he calls back. He told me, 'I'm going to be here,' and he's been here. And he's been great. I've only had positive experiences with Tyreek, and he's a great leader in the room," said Prince.
2024 was Hill's first season in three with the Dolphins where he didn't sur 1,000 receiving yards. This may be partly due to injuries suffered by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Still, Smith, the offensive coordinator, knows they need to get the best version of Hill back.
"We're all trying to use what happened last season as motivation to make sure we maximize every day," said Smith. "We're not looking ahead, we're not looking back; we're just asking: What do I have to do right now? And I think Tyreek and all the guys are really embracing that mindset."
In 2023, Hill recorded 1,799 receiving yards - a franchise record - and 13 touchdowns, so the franchise's strong desire is for him to have a similar year.
