The Pittsburgh Steelers' rookie quarterback, Will Howard, remains unfazed by the prospect of competing against Aaron Rodgers in the team's quarterback room, expressing excitement at the idea of having the NFL icon as a mentor.
While the future of the former NFL MVP remains uncertain, the Ohio State champion isn't deterred by the mysterious possibility of Rodgers' arrival.
Will Howard's Response to Teaming Up with Aaron Rodgers
During the NFLPA Rookie Premiere, Howard, the Ohio State product, spoke on the topic with Up & Adams host Kay Adams. He noted that he hasn't heard anything concrete about Rodgers ing the Steelers but expressed enthusiasm about playing alongside a player he considers an "idol."
"I don't know what's going to happen, that's all over my head," Howard said in the interview. "But I'd love to be in a room and learn from him."
Additionally, the quarterback shared what he aims to bring to the ionate Steelers fanbase.
"Growing up, for me, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and [Ben Roethlisberger], Big Ben was that guy. He was Pittsburgh. He was the Steel City, the blue-collar, the gritty guy. And I want to be that, too. I want to bring that edge, that energy. I think I did a pretty good job of it at Ohio State, and I like to pride myself on that, and I'm gonna try and bring it to the Steel City."
It's no secret that Howard has already drawn comparisons to Roethlisberger, at least in of his physical presence. Now, fans will wait to see if he can deliver results reminiscent of Big Ben's legacy.
