In their Week 2 matchup against the Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver DK Metcalf left the game early after a hard hit during Seattle's opening drive.
Although initially marked as questionable to return, he did re the game before halftime, despite dealing with a rib injury.
Metcalf sustained this injury while making a catch just in front of the end zone. The impact came from strong tackles by Lions defensive backs C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Kerby Joseph.
Following a preliminary evaluation by the team's medical staff on the sideline, Metcalf eventually headed to the locker room for further assessment.
Yet, Metcalf is not the sole Seahawks starter who encountered injury issues against Detroit. Cornerback Tariq Woolen also left the game in the first half, following Metcalf to the locker room, as he suffered a chest injury. Like Metcalf, Woolen's return to the game is also in question.
These in-game injuries to Metcalf and Woolen add to the growing injury concerns for the Seahawks in their matchup against Detroit.
Even before this game, Seattle was already without their starting offensive linemen, with left tackle Charles Cross sidelined due to a toe injury and right tackle Abe Lucas on injured reserve. Additionally, starting strong safety Jamal Adams was unavailable for Week 2 due to a knee injury.
