Super Bowl players: Who is the youngest QB to win a SB?

The Super Bowl has been won 58 times in the past but there are so few involved in the sport who have had the honor of lifting the Lombardi Trophy themselves, as the bar is just so high.

One of the most crucial players on a team is the quarterback and they seem to be getting younger by the year as more and more kids develop the right physical balance early in their career.

Who is the youngest Super Bowl-winning quarterback?

For most questions that get asked about records in the lead-up to a Super Bowl, the correct answer is Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes. For once, that is not actually the case.

If not any of them then it could be anyone who holds this record, right? The honor in fact belongs to former Pittsburgh Steelers star Ben Roethlisberger.

Roethlisberger was 23 years old and 340 days when he helped the Steelers through an 11-5 season. It ended with them winning Super Bowl XL 21-10 against the Seattle Seahawks.

What makes the achievement even more impressive is that the Steelers were very much the underdogs in that campaign. It was the Seahawks that everyone expected to win the Super Bowl.

They scored 28.2 points per game, achieved 153.6 rushing yards per game, and gained 5.8 yards on average per play.

Yet Roethlisberger, without being the star player, led his team through the big match and to Super Bowl glory, before winning another Lombardi Trophy later in his career.

He is the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl but the youngest to start a Super Bowl game is Miami Dolphins legend Dan Marino. He was 23 years and 127 days old when he started Super Bowl XIX.

How many Super Bowls did Ben Roethlisberger win?

Ben Roethlisberger won Super Bowl XL against the Seahawks in 2006 and then Super Bowl XLIII against the Arizona Cardinals in 2009.

Roethlisberger is now 40 years old and has since retired from the sport. He spent 18 seasons with the Steelers, making him one of the most loyal players in the sport. Hailing from Ohio, he only retired in 2021 after a long and rewarding career.
