Lilly King has many accomplishments in her swimming career, but the Indiana Hoosier can add one more thing to her list of happiness. The swimming icon added a second team berth on Thursday night 6 of the U. S. Olympic Trials at Lucas Oil Stadium and family and friends were there to and cheer her on.

However, they were not the only ones there for her. Her longtime boyfriend was in attendance and to make the night even more memorable, he got on one knee and proposed near the warm-up pool and in view of the cameras and an assemblage of journalists.

This marks another important event for her during a very active week looking to represent the United States in the summer Paris 2024 Olympics. The competition has been fierce, but she has lived up to the challenges, as usual.

She always picks off where she left off

Lilly had her normal and accustom trademark grit, in which she clawed back from a deficit through 150 meters to finish second in the 200-meter breaststroke, overtaking Alex Walsh. Kate Douglass finished first in 2:19.46, just off her American record of 2:19.30. King clocked 2:21.93 and Walsh 2:22.38.

The top two swimmers qualify for the Paris Olympics. King, who is 27 years old and is the winner of the 100 breaststrokes, will be the first American to swim both breaststrokes in three successive Olympics.
