That's why we want you to know that we will use public posts and comments from s of people over 18 years old, as well as your interactions with AI features on Meta. We will do this in accordance with our legitimate interests in developing and improving the generative AI models that Meta AI employs."

If you tell us that you object, we will send you an email to confirm that we will not use your interactions with AI features on Meta or your public information from Meta Products for the purposes mentioned above from that point forward. If you have already exercised your right to object, there is no need to submit another request. These changes will take effect on May 27, 2025," they said.
For its part, the Federation of Consumers and s (CECU), which is part of the European Consumer Organisation (BEUC), is calling on Meta to "rectify this policy as it is contrary to data protection, competition and digital rights regulations".
"We consider this situation to be very serious, which could also set a precedent for other companies in the technology sector to act in the same way," CECU's digital rights expert Anabel Arias told Europa Press
To object to this, the procedure is simple. From the Instagram app, you must click on the three stripes of the profile (top right), look for the option 'Privacy Center', once there, the statement about AI will appear, you must click on 'Object', and then click on 'Submit'.
