- Tennis. Djokovic wins first title of the season, hitting top form just before Roland Garros
- Tennis. Seeing Nadal leave tennis is going to be tough
It's another day of bad luck for Novak Djokovic, the reigning French Open champion, and also for Rafael Nadal.
Both will share the same side of the draw in , meaning they could face each other in the quarter-finals of the tournament, should they make it that far.
It is worth ing that the Serbian and the Spaniard already met last year before the final, then in the semi-finals, with Djokovic winning.
The greatest rivalry in the history of tennis could live its 59th chapter this year, with the score currently 30 to 28 in Djokovic's favour.
On two other occasions the two giants have met in the penultimate round - 2006 and 2015 - with one win apiece.
Alcaraz awaits
Carlos Alcaraz is in the same half of the draw and could face the winner of Djokovic-Nadal in a hypothetical semi-final. He'll likely have to overcome Alexander Zverev.
Alcaraz, who had his first training session on Thursday, has a record of 16 wins in his last 17 matches. The only blemish is the defeat to Sebastian Korda in Monte Carlo.
Carlos' first hurdle will be a qualifier, while Nadal begins his journey with Jordan Thompson. The Australian, 82nd in the rankings, fell to the 21-time major champion in the only previous meeting between the two in 2020.
The rest of the draw
As far as the rest of the Spanish representatives are concerned, Pablo Carreno will face Gilles Simon, Carlos Taberner will face Borna Coric, Jaume Munar will take on Daniel Altmaier, Alejandro Davidovich will meet Tallon Griekspoor, Albert Ramos is against Thanasi Kokkinakis, Pablo Andujar will meet Marco Cecchinato, Pedro Martínez will take on Henri Laaksonen and Roberto Carballes faces Oscar Otte.
