- Tennis. Djokovic vs Kyrgios: Close enemies in the Wimbledon final
- Tennis. Elena Rybakina, the Russian with Kazakh port, is the new queen of Wimbledon
Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios, acknowledged enemies just a few months ago, have come closer together thanks to the Canberra native's defence of the Serb during his arrest in Australia for not being vaccinated.
The two Wimbledon finalists have met today on the courts of Aorangi Park and have no shortage of jokes between them ahead of playing each other in Sunday's showpiece event.
"It's taken you five years to say something nice about me," Djokovic declared according to SportKlub.
To which the Australian player replied: "I defended you when it mattered".
The conversation ended with Djokovic nodding: "It's true. You did and I appreciate it.
Kyrgios subsequently asked his rival on social media if they were friends anymore.
The Serb then suggested the loser pays for dinner or drinks on Sunday.
The Aussie's response was swift: "Let's go to a club and go crazy."
